The weekend after we got the 2nd bedroom closet door jamb and trim installed some major visual changes were about to take place. First up was changing out the ceiling air vent. First things first, check and make sure your hair looks gooood!!
Alright, now we’re good to go up in the attic. Mace was up there swapping out the HVAC transition boot from round to square which is what we did in the other rooms. Its not necessarily hard but it is hot and sweaty work… especially in August.
After that it was time to cut the square opening in the room. You can see the new boot in the first pic and then Mace is measuring everything to make sure its square and that we don’t make the opening too big.
And here’s the after! The vent seems like a small thing but I think it makes the house feel sooo much newer! It took about an hour to do this vent. You can also see in this pic I had cut in the walls with the new paint color during the week.
While he was at it (and covered in insulation) he decided he might as well do the living room vents that we didn’t get to a while back. Same process as above and here’s the progression.
Tried a different technique this time and used an old beer box to get the right size (got plenty of those around while working on house projects!)
Ta-da!! 3 hours later we were look fab!! So much better!
