Hall Bath Wall Repair & Paint

The same week the deck landing and skirt board were being done Mace was also doing some work inside the house so I could keep moving on my bathroom project.  When we took the wallpaper down we realized the was a bit more work involved than we anticipated, isn’t that always how it goes.  So Mace got to work and started fixing all the wall patches.  First step is always prep work so we protected the newly painted floors and took down the terrible vanity light and wall papered valance.

Next we removed the old towel bar, the heater, the toilet paper holder, and the medicine cabinet.  There were a lot of spaces that needed fixing in this small space!!

Here’s Mace prepping the room by sanding down some rust that needed to be removed and repairing around the window.

Here’s the huge wall patch after blocking and drywall went in.  The smaller holes around the room Mace put mesh tape over so the mud would have something to stick to.

Next it was time to break out the mud pan and sanding block, not Mace’s favorite thing but he’s built up his skill set with our other wall repair projects here, here, and here.  There was about 2 weeks to get all the coats and sanding done while continuing to work on the deck.

And then it was time to select paint colors!  Back in my inspiration post I said I wanted a peach bathroom and I ended up going with the lightest tone so it would be really subtle and peaceful.

And 4 days later the walls and trim were all painted!  Our party was only 8 days away at this point and there was still A TON that needed to get done in this room.  The pressure was on!!
